"The Wooden Box" is an idea that was born in the farm shop to clean seed out of drills or planters. This seed vacuum can be utilized in a variety of set ups in the field or at the farm maintaince shed with a portable stand.

The Kwik Klean Seed Vacuum is designed with a chamber for the leaf blower to set in. There is a second orfic with a vacuum hose, which serves as a collection point for the seed. A screen separates the two chambers. When the collection chamber is full it is emptied by manually opening the top door. The trap door on the bottom chamber automatically opens and the grain empties into a container of your choice.

The power unit for the Kwik Klean Seed Vacuum comes from the attachment of any commercial gasoline-fueled leaf blower/vacuum that is attached to the top of the Wooden Box. It must have a 4 1/2 - 5 inch vacuum tube and a mimimum 200 MPH velocity. These can be obtain at most any lawn and garden centers if you do not already have one available.

When used in conjunction with a tailgate auger, excess seed can be transferred directly back into the truck box. For taller trucks the bed may be adapted to make the unit more accessible by tilting the truck bed. The unit will continue to operate properly in this position. When used in conjunction with a tailgate auger, the vacuum box is designed to sit on the back edge of the hopper. The vacuum box is supported on each side by a light chain securly fastened to the truck's end gate panel, and attached to the eye hook located on each side of the vacuum box. When preparing for use, remove the pin from the latch and secure the vacuum hose to the front door connector by inserting the pin through the aligned holes. The interior screen must be in place to prevent grain from being discharged through the power unit. Supporting the hose with your free hand will help prevent the hose from sagging and keep the grain from lodging inside the hose. It is a one person operation which is a fast and effecient method to suck out excess seed. It is easy to handle and easy to use!

For lesser amounts of seed, the vacuum box can be mounted on a stand and emptied into a smaller containter in the back of a pick up truck. The box is emptied by manually lifting the trap door. The vacuum box empties whenever the trap door is manually opened. The bottom hatch will automatically close when the front door is released. The power unit should be removed each time the truck is moved. The instructions are also mailed with the owner's manual that is mailed with the shipment.)

Anyway it is mounted, the Kwik Klean Seed Vacuum does a thorough job of cleaning out grain drill seed boxes.
